The Victorian Government has accepted the recommendations made by IGEM into the Review of connecting with and preparing communities for major emergencies in Victoria.
IGEM’s recommendations relate to ensuring there is appropriate assessment and monitoring of community education and awareness programs in place.
As the Government response indicates, more structured monitoring and continuous improvement frameworks and activities have been adopted since the Review was undertaken in 2016. The emergency management sector is committed to delivering good outcomes for the community and these will be considered in light of the Review’s findings to better monitor, evaluate and improve the outcomes necessary to prepare communities for major emergencies.
