Applications are now open for the 2019 Resilient Australia Awards.
The Resilient Australia Awards is a nation-wide program to recognise and promote initiatives that strengthen community disaster resilience. Since 2000, the awards have showcased innovation and exemplary practice across Australia; celebrating achievements that might otherwise go unseen, and inspiring others to build greater disaster resilience in their own communities.
They are open to all Victorians, including individuals, not for profit organisations, businesses both large and small, local and state government, schools, education institutions, research bodies and emergency management agencies. Applications will be judged at the state and territory level, and the winners will become finalists for the national judging.
Last year, Victoria's Dixon's Creek Primary School was recognised at the National Resilient Australia Awards ceremony, and won the 2018 Resilient Australia National Schools Award for their Firestick Project.
Applications close on 17 May. Read more: https://www.aidr.org.au/programs/resilient-australia-awards/ (External link)
